Laundrywala
Designed & developed by Mohd Saif
01. Problems Solved
Laundrywala's previous WordPress infrastructure suffered from extreme plugin bloat and poor Core Web Vitals, causing a high bounce rate. The main challenge was migrating the entire user base and dynamic service pages without losing existing #1 Google Search rankings across Delhi.
02. Technical Decisions
I decoupled the frontend using Next.js for its superior edge caching and Server-Side Rendering capabilities, ensuring strict SEO parity. Meticulous 301 redirects and a newly built Express.js backend reduced server response time by 40%.
The Challenge
Migrated Laundrywala from a legacy WordPress setup to a modern Next.js architecture. The primary goal was to improve site performance and SEO while maintaining the existing user base. The project involved a complete redesign and rebuild of the frontend and backend, resulting in a significant boost in Google PageSpeed scores and overall user experience.
My Strategy
- Architected the migration from WordPress to Next.js.
- Built a fully-featured admin panel with WordPress-like functionality.
- Developed a dynamic blog management system and SEO field controller.
- Implemented dynamic page and meta tag generation for a seamless, lag-free experience.
- Optimized images and assets for faster loading.
- Ensured 100% SEO parity with the old site to maintain rankings.
Key Outcomes
- Boosted Desktop PageSpeed from 65 to 95.
- Improved Mobile PageSpeed from 50 to 75.
- Maintained #1 search rankings for key laundry keywords in Delhi.
- Reduced server response time by 40%.
